Dad's tips for adding life to a daughter's years
"In third grade we had Dads Day where dads would come hang out for the day and play games. That was a year before my step dad (I call him dad anyway) married my mom. As a third grader, I thought he was the tallest man in the world, he would lift me high on his shoulders and parade me around to the activities. It was a day I’ll never forget. Then two years ago, he and my family dropped me off at my freshman dorm. He wasn’t the happiest camper that day, and a few days later he called to tell me sorry, and that he wasn’t too sure how to handle it. He also told me that he got to be reminded of and relive the beauty of Dads Day because he had a dream that I was back in third grade riding high on his shoulders."
